Spirit Zone Recordings is a record label specialised in trance, techno and electronic listening music. Based in Hamburg, Germany since August 1994, over 100 albums and singles featuring music from all over the world have been released. No doubt, the label has supported the development of a distincitve local and global artist scene. Thus having aided in creating an acclaimed sound enjoyed at parties and in homes all over the world. Spirit Zone Recordings is the heartchild of DJ Antaro. His intention was to release Goa inspired trance tracks, initially there was mainly an international pool of artists. The first tracks released were by K.U.R.O. from Japan, Adrenalin Drum (Israel), Australian Alphanaut, Dutch Crossbread and Etnica from Italy. From the beginning the label enjoyed growing national and international acclaim and popularity and soon Aussi shaman Olli Wisdom's Space Tribe joined the label family. The label rapidly expanded into various genres of the trance spectrum, featuring high quality sound examples of the time. Gradually a more local focus developed alongside the international label artists. In 1994, the then sole presence of this psy-trance oriented label in Germany encouraged many artists to expose their work and find an outlet for their sound. Electric Universe, aka multi-tasked Boris Blenn, was the first local talent to release on Spirit Zone. His debut release, the "Solar Energy EP" became an instant classic. Fuelled by the positive response, more local acts followed: 'teutonic trance rockaz' S.U.N. Project, very promising Hamburgian sound fiddlers Ololiuqui; 'cosmic harmonists' Star Sounds Orchestra - who take trance music into new spherical dimensions; Shiva Chandra, the most positive psy-trance around and the brilliant morning trancers Tarsis - now releasing as SBK and Space Fish. Spirit Zone Recordings released many highly recognized compilations, the most famous being the "Global Psychedelic Trance" volumes, always consisting of a dance and ambient CD. This series is the probably most influencial and highly acclaimed German compilation series of the genre. The two "Tatahata" compilations and the nordic "Tales From the Forest" were released between 1995-1998. In 1999 the "Irresistible Meltdown" compilation came out. The most recent series is an ambient compilation, the "Global Psychedelic Chillout" volumes, featuring new and progessive ambient beats and styles - stay tuned for Volume II in April 2001. As well as the "Psychotainment" series which features progressive techoid tracks. Spirit Zone Recordings became a trademark name and the label continues to set new standards by signing artists like Patcwork Patchwork - melting ambient, electronic and (re)generated sounds. Gabriel Le Mar (Saafi Brothers, Aural Float) has now released his second album on Spirit Zone.

New trance-setters such as Japanese K.U.R.O., german Spirallianz, swedish Necton and Fünf D (Michael Kohlbecker) are signed as Spirit Zone artists.
